The Rapid Response Service, based in Colchester, has just been shortlisted for the Great British Care Awards, South East region. These prestigious awards celebrate the very best in care services nationally and the team are especially proud to be shortlisted in the awards as this is the very first time they have entered!
The team have been recognised for the work they do to help keep people out of hospital: between April 2017 and March 2018 they safely discharged 1,540 people and stopped a further 1,008 hospital admissions – that’s nearly 50 people every week kept out of hospital!
They have also been recognised for the excellent leadership and strong team, clearly evidenced during the snow fall earlier this year when they didn’t miss a single appointment – a considerable achievement when you consider that some of the dedicated carers cover nearly 100 miles on the rural roads of north Essex during their shifts.
The next stage of the award process is an interview in Brighton which takes place next month, followed by the finals in November.
Good luck everyone!
