The Cannons

The Cannons is an extra care facility in Colchester which is owned by Colchester Borough Council, managed by Colchester Borough Homes and the care services are provided by Swan Housing Association.

The scheme contains 38 flats and a number of one and two bed bungalows, which are wheelchair accessible, all of which benefit from additional care services for residents, delivered by Swan’s onsite care staff.

There is a communal lounge, dining room, hairdressing salon, guest facilities and garden.

The Social Care Commitment

The Social Care Commitment is the adult social care sector's promise to provide people who need care and support with high quality services. It is made up of seven 'I will' statements, with associated tasks. Each commitment focuses on the minimum standards required when working in care and aims to increase public confidence in the care sector and raise workforce quality in adult social care.

Other News From The Cannons...

Yesterday The Cannons held yet another successful Christmas party, involving customers, friends, families, social care partners and of course the fabulous care team.
The staff team at the Cannons worked extremely hard to bake cakes to support the Alzheimer’s Society #Cupcakeday2018 last Friday.
We have a resident living at The Cannons who has learning disabilities. She was not born with cognitive difficulties; these were caused by neglect and abuse from birth. She never went to school and was kept away from others her own age. She has suffered many types of abuse from all members of her direct family.
